it's party time!

Celebrating my youngest, Ella, comes so easy! She turned two this May, so it's highly likely this was the last party that I had theme control. I was inspired by the Jollity & Co peaches 'n cream checkered plates I stumbled upon at So Chiq Boutique in the Heights! So, we kept with it and made it bright and fun, just like Ella. ;)

I am an avid DIYer so I outsourced very little for this party! I personalized the color changing cups and sunnies for each of her little guests. I stuffed the sunnies into a cute holo zip bag and put a few waterproof stickers inside that would remind each guest of HER! One of her many nicknames is "buggy", so each guest got an aesthetic VW bug sticker along with one that reminds them to be kind or that they're awesome!

I cranked my Cricut into high gear for this party and made all of the paper flowers in the bouquets and those hanging from the 7ft gold metal arch. To keep with the theme, I painted the '2' to match the plates and hung it from the 5ft gold metal half moon stand. I also made the three large flower displays and the chandeliers. My sweet husband helped me hang the balloons on the ceiling to zhuzh it up (aka try to take away from our deck that needs some serious TLC).

When entertaining, it's important to do just that! Especially with kiddos! Our white bounce house is always a hit with littles! I had a large tic-tac-toe game (that I painted to match the invite, of course) and bubble wands were available, too!

When planning parties, I always like to have something unique! For this party, we served dippin' dots with color changing spoons! So, in true Heidi fashion, I had to DIY an acrylic sign for display. I love to bake, but did outsource the cake, cupcakes, and cake balls. :) Sometimes ya just can't do it all ;)

Tell me what you think! Do you enjoy the whimsical themes or do you prefer character themed parties?

xx
Heidi
