let's get spooky

Did I throw a Halloween party just so I had an excuse to dress my family up as Taylor, Travis, and the ghosts from his past? Perhaps, but I also love hanging with our friends and their kiddos so that's obviously the true reason! Playing dress up is just a bonus ;) Oh! And my husband's birthday comes shortly after Halloween, so we had allllllll the reasons to have a party!

I went with a modern twist on the traditional Halloween color scheme and I love how it turned out! The dusky green and burnt orange with the deep purple just hit! Add in the disco balls and you've got yourself a PAR-TAY :D

I used the 7ft gold metal arch and the 5ft gold metal half moon stand for the backdrop. I made the fringe on the 7ft arch with crepe streamers. I draped a white sheet over the 5ft metal half moon stand and cut out ovals from black construction paper. Boo! I also did all of the balloon installs on the backdrop and over the kiddo table.

I used two 4ft bifold tables at the lowest height for the kids table. For favors, I customized skull cups and had Halloween themed sensory kits! At each setting was a glow stick light up mask, too. :)

For entertainment, I somehow convinced my husband to clear out a section of one of our storage rooms and tarp it off so we could get a little spooky!! We really tried tailoring this room to the littles, so lots of sensory activities were in store! I transformed a summer water table into a corn table and made a sensory bin with colored spaghetti noodles for worms and added eyeballs, and spiders for a fun surprise!

We opted to do this party potluck style in an attempt to maintain some sanity. Big thanks to our friends for coming thru!

We stirred up a blackberry rum cocktail in a smoldering cauldron for the adults and a hocus pocus punch for the littles. I personalized disco ball stir sticks with bats and ghosts and super last minute threw together the acrylic sign for the punch!

What's a costume party without a costume contest!? We had a construction crew, firefighters, Friends cast, and a zoo keeper with zoo animals, but the Duttons took the W this year!
